These terms describe what you can expect from the SFH Institute for Public Health ("the Institute") and what we ask of you in return when you use this site, sign in to your learning area, or download a resource from our open knowledge library.
1. Who we are
The SFH Institute for Public Health is the research and training arm of the Society for Family Health Group, operating across Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. Contact details and registered address are on the About page.
2. Using the site
You are welcome to read, link to, and share pages on this site. You may not:
- Use the site in a way that could damage or disable it, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the learning area or our systems.
- Scrape or mirror the site without prior written permission.
- Misrepresent your affiliation with the Institute or imply endorsement we have not granted.
3. Courses & fellowships
Enrolling in a course or fellowship means you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your role, affiliation, and country.
- Complete the course honestly — assignments are your own work; cited sources are credited.
- Treat fellow learners and faculty with respect; harassment of any kind is grounds for removal from the course without refund.
- Pay any fees by the date stated in your enrolment agreement. Most of our short courses are free; fellowships are funded by partner donors.
Certificates are issued only to learners who complete the assessment. We may revoke a certificate if we later find the assessment was completed dishonestly.
4. The open library
Everything in our open knowledge library is published under CC-BY 4.0 unless a specific resource says otherwise. You can copy, redistribute, remix, and build on the materials — including commercially — as long as you credit the Institute and indicate if changes were made.
5. Intellectual property
The Institute's name, logos, and visual identity are our registered marks. Course content not published in the open library is licensed only to enrolled learners and may not be redistributed.
6. Liability
We work hard to keep the site, the learning area, and our published evidence accurate and up to date, but we cannot warrant that everything is free of errors. The Institute is not liable for any decision you make in reliance on a brief, paper, or course module without seeking appropriate professional advice. Our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law.
7. Changes
We may update these terms when our offerings change. The current version is always at this URL with a "Last updated" date at the top.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
